Abstract
Jalalabad iron ore deposit and copper mineralization associated with is located in 37 kilometers northwest of Zarand in Kerman Province. The aim of this research is to identify the anomalous subsurface copper and find its correlations with different rock units within the deposit. Of the total of 21 exploration boreholes in the western region of this deposit, in 7 boreholes, along with the analysis of iron and related elements, the amount of copper element has also been measured in 136 samples, the data obtained from which have been the basis for the investigations and calculations of the deep geochemical properties of copper element. Then, by drawing a Log-Log diagram, the mineralization communities have been separated and the limits of the anomalies have been determined. Analysis of the drill samples has led to the identification of an anomaly threshold of 870 ppm and copper-enriched areas. Using the results of multifractal modeling, the distribution models of grade and the anomaly communities have been identified separately. and the results indicate a strong relationship of copper anomalies with sandstone and siltstone units in association with magnetite, and the richest copper area with a grade of more than 1% at depth has been identified.
