Using geomorphic markers as indirect method in paleoseismic studies is an appropriate and practical method in understanding the tectonic activity the mountainous areas. Gigantic landslides are among the markers for this purpose. Usually these landslides are related to tectonics and it is generally interpreted as landslides triggered by earthquakes. Major landslides  in the Noor valley (Central Alborz) are used in this study as geomorphic markers for seismic capability of faults. No major historical earthquake is reported from the Noor valley arae, however gigantic landslides in the valley indicate that multiple major seismic events have occurred in earlier periods which are not recorded in historical records. According to geomorphic characteristics of these landslides, we determined 3 different age classes (Late Holocene, Early Holocene, and Late Pleistocene) for them. These ages provides possibility for identifying of multiple earthquake events in the area. According to the relationship between the earthquake magnitude and the maximal volume of the related landslides, we estimated magnitudes of the earthquakes to be 7.7±0.49 to 7.9±0.49. Based on the distribution of the landslides the eastern segment of the Baladeh fault seems to be responsible for the earthquakes. }, keywords = {Gigantic Landslide,Indirect paleoseismology,Seismic capability,Prehistoric earthquakes,Noor valley (central Alborz)}, title_fa = {برآورد توان لرزه‌زایی گسل‌ها و ارزیابی بزرگای زمین‌لرزه‌های پیش از تاریخ از داده های زمین لغزش: مطالعه موردی در دره نور (البرز مرکزی)}, abstract_fa = {شناخت ویژگی‏های دیرینه‌لرزه‌شناختی و توان لرزه‌زایی گسل‏های هر منطقه برای برآورد میزان خطر زمین‌لرزه از اهمیت ویژه‌ای برخوردار است. استفاده از نشانه‌های زمین‌ریخت‌شناختی (Geomorphic markers) به عنوان روشی غیرمستقیم در مطالعات دیرینه‌لرزه‌شناختی برای شناخت ویژگی‌های جنبایی زمین‌ساختی هر منطقه و برآورد توان لرزه‌زایی گسل‌های آن، روشی مناسب و کاربردی در مناطق کوهستانی است. در این میان، زمین‌لغزش‌های بزرگ (Gigantic Landslide) را نشانه مناسبی می‌توان برشمرد. این زمین‌لغزش‌ها معمولا با عوامل زمین‌ساختی مرتبط بوده و در بسیاری موارد زمین‌لرزه به عنوان محرک آنها عمل می‌کند. در پژوهش حاضر، زمین‌لغزش‌های بزرگ در دره نور(البرز مرکزی) به عنوان نشانه زمین‌ریخت‌شناختی برای شناخت شرایط لرزه‌ای منطقه و توان لرزه‌زایی گسل‌های آن به کار گرفته شده‌اند. در حوالی این دره زمین‌لرزه تاریخی گزارش نشده است، اما وجود زمین‌لغزش‌های بزرگ و قدیمی مرتبط با زمین‌لرزه نشان از رخداد زمین‌لرزه‌هایی متعدد و بزرگ در بازه فراتر از تاریخ در منطقه دارد. با توجه به ویژگی‌های ریخت‌شناختی این زمین‌لغزش‌ها، سه رده سنی مختلف(هولوسن پسین، هولوسن پیشین و پلیستوسن پسین) برای آنها تعیین شده است که این امر امکان شناسایی رخداد زمین‌لرزه‌های متعددی در منطقه را فراهم نموده است. از سوی دیگر با توجه به حجم مواد جابه‌جا شده، زمین‌لرزه‌های مسبب می‌توانند بزرگایی از 49/0 ± 7/7 تا 49/0 ± 9/7 را نشان دهند. با توجه به توزیع مکانی این زمین‌لغزش‌ها و شواهد دیگر، احتمالا قطعه خاوری گسل بلده به عنوان مسبب اصلی زمین‌لرزه‌های عمل کرده است.}, keywords_fa = {زمین‌لغزش‌های بزرگ,دیرینه‌لرزه شناسی غیرمستقیم,توان لرزه‌زایی,زمین‌لرزه پیش از تاریخ,دره نور(البرز مرکزی)}, url = {http://www.gsjournal.ir/article_41851.html}, eprint = {http://www.gsjournal.ir/article_41851_82f0c274158b59c2245a86213e05ddbf.pdf} }
