Thus, to identify and characterize the physicochemical and mineralogical properties of Eliyato deposits in northeastern Iran, 10 samples from different locations were taken and studied by powder X-ray diffraction, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, X-ray fluorescence, thermal analysis, infrared spectroscopy, specific surface area and cation exchange capacity. The results indicated that these deposits consist of well-crystallized sepiolite (70–80%), with minor amounts of quartz (10–20%) and dolomite (5–10%). The electron micrographs of the samples showed sepiolite as a long interwoven fibrous mat, pore-filling and coating material. This textural evidence suggests direct chemical precipitation of sepiolite from an Mg-rich solution and/or after the precipitation of dolomite. The chemical composition, determined by X-ray fluorescence, indicated a Mg-rich mineral with the structural formula (Si11.97Al0.03) (Mg7.20Al0.11Fe0.15) O30 (OH)4 (H2O)4.8H2O. This suggests low isomorphic substitutions of Al for Si and Mg in the tetrahedral and octahedral sheets of the mineral, respectively. In addition, thermal analysis indicated four endothermic reactions at 134, 336, 546 and 818 °C which are associated with the gradual elimination of adsorbed and zeolitic water from the mineral structure. The associated weight losses are 8.69, 3.31, 2.65 and 10.19%, respectively. The high surface area of the material, compared to that of the Vallecas sepiolite deposit in Spain, suggests its suitability for industrial applications.}, keywords = {Sepiolite,Magnesium,Mineralogy,Thermal analysis,Layer Charge,Chemical composition}, title_fa = {بررسی برخی ویژگی‌های فیزیکوشیمیایی و کانی‌شناسی ذخایر سپیولیت شمال خاور ایران}, abstract_fa = {تا به حال گزارشی در رابطه با شناسایی و مطالعه ویژگی‌های فیزیکوشیمیایی ذخایر سپیولیت در کشور منتشر نشده است. بنابراین این مطالعه با هدف شناسایی و بررسی برخی ویژگی‌های فیزیکوشیمیایی و کانی‌شناسی ذخایر سپیولیت الیاتو در شمال خاور ایران انجام شد. به این منظور 10 نمونه سپیولیت که از نقاط مختلف معدن الیاتو به صورت تصادفی گرد‌آوری شده بود برای انجام مطالعات ژئوشیمیایی و کانی‌شناسی شامل مطالعات سطح ویژه، ظرفیت تبادل کاتیونی، پراش پرتو ایکس، مطالعات میکروسکوپ الکترونی عبوری و روبشی، فلورسانس پرتو ایکس، تجزیه حرارتی و طیف‌سنجی فروسرخ بررسی شدند. نتایج حاصل از مطالعه پراش نگاشت‌های پرتو ایکس در ذخایر مورد مطالعه حضور کانی‌ سـپیولیت را به عنوان فاز اصلی (70 تا 80 درصد) همراه با مقادیر کم کانی‌های کوارتز (20- 10 درصد) و دولومیت (10- 5 درصد) اثبات کرد. مشاهدات میکروسکوپ الکترونی عبوری و روبشی نیز وجود رشته‌های طویل و درهم تابیده کانی سپیولیت را در این ذخایر تأیید کرد که نشان از تشکیل درجای این کانی از محلول‌های غنی از منیزیم و/یا پس از ته‌نشست دولومیت در آنها دارد. همچنین بر پایه تجزیه عنصری ذخایر مورد مطالعه، فرمول ساختمانی پیشنهادی برای این کانی عبارت است از: (Si1197 Al0.03)(Mg7.20 Al0.11 Fe0.15)O30(OH)4(OH2)4 . 8H2O که نشان‌دهنده جانشینی کم آلومینیم به جای سیلیسیم و منیزیم به ترتیب در لایه‌های تتراهدرال و اکتاهدرال کانی و وجود بار لایه‌ای به نسبت کم در کانی است. همچنین نتایج این مطالعه نشان داد که در منحنی حرارتی ذخایر سپیولیت مورد مطالعه 4  پیک گرماگیر به ترتیب در 134، 336، 546 و 818 درجه سانتی‌گراد دیده می‌شوند که به ترتیب با 69/8، 31/3، 65/2 و 19/10 درصد کاهش وزن در ساختمان کانی همراه است و بیشتر به دلیل حذف تدریجی آب از ساختمان کانی در منحنی حرارتی کانی ظاهر می‌شوند. همچنین مقایسه سطح ویژه کانی با نمونه مشابه اسپانیایی، استفاده از آن را برای کاربردهای صنعتی تأیید می‌کند.  }, keywords_fa = {سپیولیت,منیزیم,کانی‌شناسی,تجزیه حرارتی,بار لایه‌ای,تجزیه عنصری}, url = {http://www.gsjournal.ir/article_43982.html}, eprint = {http://www.gsjournal.ir/article_43982_a858935eb2deb264733a488de0f7e9af.pdf} }
