The Maragheh Formation of the Miocene age is well exposed on the slopes of the Sahand Mountain and includes diverse vertebrate fossils such as giraffids, antelopes, horses, rhinoceros, and proboscidean. The giraffid fossils in the Maragheh region, are of the great importance in paleogeographic and paleoecological studies. In order to investigate the paleogeographic and paleoecological relations between the studied giraffid fossils, a detailed analysis of the dataset was conducted by using multivariate analyses. The results of the principal component analyses (PCA) and cluster analyses (CA) show a high similarity between the fossil specimens from the Maragheh region with those from Turkey and Spain. This close morphological relations between the fossils of Maragheh region and other studied fossils indicates the existence of an ecological environment with similar faunas at the same geographical latitudes during the Turolian period. منطقه فسیلی مراغه در شمال‌باختر ایران با داشتن گونه‌های فسیلی فراوان و متنوع یکی از باارزش‌ترین مناطق فسیلی مهره‎داران جهان به‌شمار می‌آید. سازند مراغه با سن میوسن پسین در دامنه کوه سهند گستردگی دارد و شامل فسیل‌های گوناگونی از پستانداران مانند اسب، زرافه، کرگدن، آهو، و خرطوم‌داران می‌باشد. یکی از فسیل‌هایی که در منطقه مراغه از فراوانی و تنوع گونه‌ای زیادی برخوردار است، فسیل زرافه‌هاست که اهمیت زیادی در مطالعات دیرینه‌جغرافیایی و دیرینه‌بوم‌شناسی(پالئو‌اکولوژیکی) دارد. در این مطالعه، یک مجموعه‌داده بر اساس اندازه‌گیری ریخت‌سنجی (مورفومتریک) اندام‌های حرکتی زرافه‌های میوسن پسین منطقه مراغه و داده‌های جمع‌اوری شده مربوط به اندام‌های حرکتی زرافه‌های میوسن پسین مناطق ترکیه و اسپانیا تهیه گردید. به منظور بررسی روابط دیرینه‌جغرافیایی و دیرینه‌بوم‌شناسی بین فسیل‌های زرافه‌ مورد مطالعه، مجموعه‌داده‌ با استفاده از تحلیل‌های چند متغیره مورد تحلیل دقیق قرار گرفت. بر اساس نتایج به‌دست آمده از آنالیزهای مولفه اصلی <span dir="LTR" style="font-size: 10.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-bidi-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-bidi-language: FA; mso-no-proof: yes;">(PCA) و آنالیزهای خوشه‌ای <span dir="LTR" style="font-size: 10.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-bidi-theme-font: major-bidi; mso-bidi-language: FA; mso-no-proof: yes;">(CA)، نمونه‌های فسیلی منطقه مراغه شباهت بالایی با نمونه‌های فسیلی مناطق ترکیه و اسپانیا نشان می‌دهند. این ارتباط ریخت‌شناختی نزدیک بین فسیل‌های مراغه با دیگر فسیل‌های مورد مطالعه، نشانگر وجود یک محیط بوم‌شناختی با جانوران مشابه در عرض‌های جغرافیایی یکسان در زمان تورولین می‌باشد.
