چکیده
رخداد سیمیرین در شمال ایران حاصل برخورد قاره‌ای است که با ناپیوستگی‌های ناحیه‌ای و تغییرات شدید در رسوبگذاری همراهی می‌شود. بررسی‌های تنش دیرینه در گستره البرز نشان می‌دهد از نورین تا باژوسین میانی (گروه شمشک)، کشش در راستای 030 درجه توسط گسل‌های عادی همزمان با نهشت صورت گرفته است. نویسندگان این مقاله زمین‌ساخت کششی را همزمان با مراحل کافت‌شدگی حوضه کاسپین جنوبی می‌دانند. در البرز مرکزی، سازندهای دلیچای و لار، به سن باژوسین پسین تا نئوکومین، گروه شمشک را به‌صورت همشیب در بیشتر نواحی و برخی اوقات به‌صورت دگرشیب (نواحی آبیک- قزوین) می‌پوشانند. آنها همزمان با باز شدن حوضه کاسپین جنوبی در بخش جنوبی حاشیه حوضه تشکیل شده‌اند. در البرز، بخش پیشین توالی کرتاسه با گسل های عادی خاوری - باختری تا باختر شمال‌باختری - خاور جنوب‌خاوری به همراه ماگماتیسم قلیایی مربوط به کشش شمالی - جنوبی تا شمال شمال‌خاوری – جنوب جنوب‌باختری همراهی می‌شود. مرز میان کرتاسه - پالئوسن با ناپیوستگی ناحیه‌ای مهمی مشخص است. این ناپیوستگی مربوط به وارونگی سوی تنش در حاشیه جنوبی حوضه کاسپین است. در طول ائوسن پیشین - میانی، جنوب البرز با فرونشست قوی حوضه کرج مشخص می‌شود. گسل‌های عادی همزمان با رسوبگذاری با روند خاوری - باختری تا باختر شمال‌باختری - خاور جنوب‌خاوری در سازند کرج عموماً دیده می‌شود. این گسل‌های عادی یک کشش شمالی - جنوبی تا شمال شمال‌خاوری - جنوب جنوب‌باختری را نشان می‌دهند. بنا به باور نگارندگان، سازند کرج در یک حوضه پشت کمانی مرتبط با فرورانش به سوی شمال خاور سنگ کره اقیانوسی تتیس جوان به زیر حاشیه جنوبی اوراسیا تشکیل شده است.
