چکیده
سازند جیرود گسترش وسیعی در منطقه دامغان دارد. از نظر سنگ شناختی، این سازند به‌طور عمده از آهک، آهک مارنی، شیل و ماسه سنگ کوارتزیتی تشکیل شده است و ستبرای آن از 10 تا حدود 200 متر تغییر می‌کند. بازوپایان سازند جیرود در جنوب باختر، شمال و شمال خاور منطقه دامغان (برش‌های دروار، سیمه کوه و ده‌ملا) مورد مطالعه قرار گرفتند و گونه‌های زیر در آنها شناسایی شدند:
Schellwienella sp., Mesoplica praelonga, Mesoplica sp., Sentosia sp., Schizophoria impressa, Leptagonia sp., Aulacella interlineata, Zaigunrostrum iranicum, Leptocaryorhynchus jamensis, Araratella dichotomians assimulata, Araratella sp., Centrorhynchus charakensis, Megalopterorhynchus chanakchiensis, Paurogastroderhynchus nalivkini, Paurogastroderhynchus bikniensis, Cleiothyridina coloradensis, Cleiothyridina sp., Athyris tau, Composita cf. globosa,Lamellosathyris sp., Cyrtospirifer sergunkovae, Cyrtospirifer sp.,Cyrtiopsis graciosa chakhaensis, Cyrtiopsis lapparenti, Prospira struniana, Prospira lapparenti, Rigauxia cyrtinaeformis, Rigauxia crassiplicatus, Dichospirifer thylakistoides, Eobrachythyris sp.,Toryniferella echinulata, Cryptonella sp.,
براساس این بازوپایان، سن فامنین پیشین- پسین را می‌توان برای بخش کربناتی سازند جیرود در این برش‌ها در نظر گرفت. همچنین سازند جیرود در این برش‌ها، هم‌ارز قسمت میانی و بالایی (بجز زیست‌زون Rossirhynchus) سازند جیرود در برش الگو (البرز مرکزی) است.
