Guidelines for submission of manuscripts to the Scientific Quarterly Journal of Geosciences

The Topic of the quarterly articles are: Economic Geology, Sedimentology, Stratigraphy and Paleontology, Geology, Petrology, Geophysics, Environmental Geology, Hydrology, Engineering Geology.

 - Types of acceptable articles in the Scientific Quarterly Journal of Geosciences: research article with case study, review article, research note (short articles), methodology article, scientific critique and point of view.

 - Files required to upload on the quarterly site (when registering electronically and sending the initial version of the article):

- original article - Authors profile - Pledge form and approval of all authors - Form of conflict of interest - Certificate of similarity (like and peer) - Receipt of initial payment in the amount of 1,000,000 Rials

- Files required to upload on the quarterly site (when accepting the article):

- The final version of the article that has been approved by the Reviewer.

- Figures in TIFF or JPEG format in CMYK format separately and outside of word and the high quality file.

- Receipt of final payment, page layout and obtaining DOI code in the amount of 2,000,000 Rials

 - When initial registration and sending the article in the publication system, the necessary care should be taken in completing the authors' details. According to the rules of the Scientific Quarterly Journal of Geosciences, it is not possible to change the order, number, academic rank and characteristics of the Corresponding author and authors at any stage (graduate students should make sure of their university rules before submitting an article).

- If the respected authors have an article in the quarterly under review, do not send the next article before assigning the article.

- Papers submitted should not be published in other journals or in domestic and foreign conferences or simultaneously. Obviously, the consequences of not observing this issue will be borne by the authors.

- Authors should highlight the corrections made in the text of the article and submit the answer to the corrections requested by the judges (point by point, for each arbitrator separately) in a letter and upload it along with the submitted article.

 Objective: Main objective of the Geosciences Journal is to provide an appropriate context for the exchange of scientific and technical information between professors, researchers and specialists. Geosciences Journal publishes those papers providing the results of fundamental and applied research, containing the latest innovations and useful subjects related to the geology of Iran as well as the results of theoretical research on earth sciences.

 Research originality: Corresponding author will be responsible of the paper in terms of authenticity and scientific accuracy, not publishing in other journals, and arranging the name of the authors. All correspondence will be sent to the corresponding author. That version of the paper that has been arranged based on standard layout will be published only after confirmation of the text and research originality the corresponding author.

 Article size: The maximum volume of the article is 30 pages (according to the writing guide and writing pens mentioned below) considering the pictures and tables.

 Discussion and comments: Readers can post a discussion on published papers to the editorial office maximum 3 months after publication to be published along with the possible answer of the authors, if approved by the editorial board.

 Specifications: The paper's title should be relatively short (maximum 15 words) and contains all the main characteristics of the research. Name, surname, organizational affiliation and e-mail of the authors (academic or organizational email) should be presented under the title of the paper in accordance with the publication procedure (The name of the person to whom the correspondence will be addressed should be marked with a star or line; in addition, postal address and phone number of the responsible author (work phone number and mobile) should also be mentioned). Please consider that the order of the authors can't be changed in any way after inserting on the site.

 Abstract: Persian abstract should have a standard structure and up to 200 words. Abstract should be preferably arranged in a paragraph, in the form of a column with a width of 18 centimeters (the text spacing from the top, bottom, right and left should be 2 centimeters). Keywords should be located after the abstract and contains 8 words maximum. Avoid referring to references and putting figures in abstract.

 Text: The body of the Manuscript is prepared in a single column. Row spacing is normal everywhere (1.5 lines). Avoid quoting English words (except for names, citations, and fossil species). The units used are in the metric system (if another unit is used, its metric equivalent should be mentioned). All pages of the article must have a page number and a line number.

 Note: Use Ctrl + shift +2 keys to insert half-space.

 Figures and tables: All figures, diagrams and photos are presented as a figure. These items should be of high quality in TIFF format and CMYK color combination. It is mandatory to mention reference of the statements that are taken from other sources. The tables should be left-to-right and their text should be in English in Word software. Since the papers are decorated in columns of 8.5 cm (two columns) and 18 cm (single column), it is necessary to provide figures and tables with a width of 18 (larger figures) or 8.5 cm (smaller figures). Sending the original figures and charts in Photoshop environment with resolution of 600 is of great importance in terms of print quality. Also, figures inside the text should be inserted where referenced to them in paper.

 References: Referring to the references in the paper is indicated as author's surname and publication date in the parentheses. List of references is presented in alphabetical order and in original language at the end of the paper. The number of references should be preferably at least 20 updated references in English.

 Papers: Authors (Surname, first letter of name), publishing date, paper title, name of journal, volume, number (Year), number of pages, DOI.

The order number of the relationship is written in brackets. Please avoid bringing footer. Equivalent words and explanatory items are inserted in the parentheses along the word once in the text.

 English introducing: Paper title, authors name, organizational affiliation and e-mail should be presented in a separate leaflet at the end of the paper along with the abstract and the English key words. The English abstract and key words are the full translation of the Persian abstract and key words.

It may be followed either through the website or by related emails: faslnameh1370@gmail.com or  faslnameh1370@yahoo.com A confirmation letter from all authors should be submitted accompanying with the document based on that they have reviewed and confirmed Manuscript, which must include their signature, email and phone number. It is required to announce the name and surname of at least 3 people who are qualified in the specialized field of the Manuscript in order to more complete the reviewers’ databank. It is necessary to mention the pursuing code of the Manuscript on the revised version.
