Abstract
Torbat-e- Jam granitoid is located in Binalud structural zone. Its host rocks include low grade slate of Mian kuhy Fm. (from Aghdarband Group) and belongs to Upper Triassic (Norian Stage) which is an extension part of metamorphic rocks around south Mashhad, and is overlain by Kashafrud Fm. with basal conglomerate (Bajocian Stage).
This granitoid belongs to continental arc granitoids (CAG) which have been intruded in late orogenic stage, and it is related to subduction of Paleotethys II (Indosinid) Plate under Turan Plate, and has been affected by the activity of Indosinid phase (which is slightly older than Early Cimmerian), and is contemporaneous with late-stage magmatism in south Mashhad (in the same zone).
