The Saheb Fe-Cu skarn deposit is located in the Sanandaj-Sirjan metamorphic belt, SE Saqqez, western Iran and has been formed along the contact between the Oligo-Miocene aged Saheb granitoid and the Permian aged impure calcareous rocks and includes endoskarn and exoskarn. Exoskarn is widely developed and include garnet and epidote skarn zones. The majority of mineralized zones are concentrated in garnet skarn. The relatively oxidizing mineralogical assemblage of the Saheb skarn includes garnet (andradite-grossular), pyroxene (diopside-hedenbergite), magnetite and hematite. Magnetite is the main and abundant ore mineral throughout the ore deposit. Based on field evidences and microscopic studies of skarn zone samples, two stages of prograde and retrograde alteration are distinguishable. According to the results of sample analysis of Saheb skarn productive intrusive body by XRF and ICP-MS techniques, the combination of this body is chiefly granite to granodiorite-diorite and belong to the I-type granitoids, metaluminous and K-rich calc-alkaline series. The Saheb granitoid is related to the VAG (Volcanic Arc Granite) tectonic setting.

The Qahr-abad fluorite deposit is located ~58 km southeast of Saqqez city, Kurdistan province. This deposit is developed as scatter lenses, veins, and veinlets (stockwork structure) within carbonate rocks. Violet, green and colorless fluorites are recognized. Quartz, dolomite, calcite and barite are gangues. REE geochemistry of the area suggests that the REE content of the fluorites lies between 20.18 and 48.38 ppm. The relatively higher concentration of LREEs in violet and colorless fluorites suggests that they formed in the first stages of mineralization. The calculation of Eu anomalies suggest that the fluorites formed in alkaline to neutral and to some extent oxidizing conditions because the Eu anomaly cover a narrow range around 1. The calculation of Ce anomaly which is negative, also confirms the oxidizing conditions for mineralizing fluids. Finally, by the studies of REE geochemistry it can be concluded that Qahr-Abad fluorite deposit is a product of hydrothermal activity of epithermal type and the mineralizing fluids are of magmatic or basinal origin by which the presence of magmatic activity in this district, it can be explained.

Gold as a strategic element has a strong exploration potential in KurdistanCounty. This investigation for gold has carried out in N.W. Sanandaj- Siirjan geological zone. 351 samples has been taken from drainages and analyzed by ICP-MS in Canada for 22 elements. Based on results, anomaly map and enrichment ratio for gold and related paragenetic elements have been prepared. The result indicate an enrichment factor of 1-99 times for gold and 1-3, 1-19, 1-3, 1-3, 1-6, 1-2, 1-7, and 1-4 for elements Ag, As, Pb, Zn, B, Ba, Bi and W, respectively. Data resulted to a distribution pattern for Au and other elements such as. Gold anomaly is recognize in 36 Km2 associated up to 19 times enrichment for As. Therefore As is a good indicator element for Au her and in similar environments. Tectonically gold showed a very strong relation with breccias zones and par genetic minerals.
