Application of fluid inclusions in ore genesis studies and mineral prospection; The Sungun porphyry Copper- Molybdenum deposit, (northwest of Ahar), Azarbayjan, as an example

Abstract
Fluid inclusion studies, especially in the last 20 years, have provided, invaluable data in constraining the physicochemical conditions of formation of ore deposits.
Some examples of fluid inclusion studies on carbonate- hosted Pb- Zn deposits of Mississippi Valley type, epithermal gold, Uranium vein deposits in granites, tin- tungsten vein deposits and Cu- Mo porphyry deposits are briefly discussed in this paper. Parallel with these ore- genesis studies significant attention has also been focused on the application of fluid inclusions as a prospecting tool.
It is shown that the integration of field observations and laboratory investigations (petrography, alteration and fluid inclusions) has led to the discovery of Cu- Mo porphyry style mineralization, near Sungun village (northwest of Ahar), Azarbayjan.
