چکیده

پهنه گسلی چشمه‌نی با طول حدود 100 کیلومتر و روند عمومی شمال خاوری- جنوب باختری در رشته کوه‌های البرز- الله‌داغ قرار گرفته است. این پهنه متشکل از گسل‌های بسیاری است که به‌طور عمده دارای شیب زیاد °85-40 به سمت شمال باختر یا جنوب خاور هستند. این پهنه متعلق به سامانه گسلی شاهرود و دارای جنبش چپ‌بر است. شواهد ریخت‌زمین‌شناسی از جمله آبراهه‌های منحرف شده، مخروط‌افکنه‌های جابه‌جا شده و نهشته‌های کواترنری بریده شده نشان‌دهنده پویا بودن پهنه گسلی چشمه‌نی در کواترنری هستند. برونزد واحدهای پالئوزوییک و مزوزوییک در مجاورت یا بر روی واحدهای جوان‌تر به همراه وجود  صفحات گسلی با سازوکار راندگی نشان می‌دهند که دست‌کم  یک سازوکار راندگی در بخشی از دوره تکوین ساختار این گسل وجود داشته است. از سوی دیگر پهنه گسلی چشمه‌نی بر روی خط‌واره مغناطیسیF-431 منطبق شده است و به نظر می‌رسد در نتیجه فعالیت این گسل پی‌سنگی تشکیل شده است. این پهنه گسلی مرز  بین دو حوضه البرز و کپه‌داغ را شکل داده و  یک پهنه گسلی عادی محدودکننده حوضه است که تغییر سازوکار داده و  به یک پهنه گسلی راندگی مبدل شده است. این تغییر سازوکار  به احتمال در اثر حرکت بلوک ایران به طرف توران و کپه‌داغ  در تریاس و یا پدیده وارون شدگی در کرتاسه پسین روی داده است. به دنبال تجدید سازمان در دگرشکلی ناحیه‌ای در پهنه برخورد عربی- اوراسیا در بازه 3 تا 7 میلیون سال پیش و یا در کواترنری، پهنه گسلی چشمه‌نی به یک پهنه گسلی با مؤلفه چیره چپ‌بر مبدل شده است.
